This week’s theme for daily creates was image.

  1. #tdc5256 #ds106 #dailycreate The Zen of adult colouring books?

This Daily Create published June 4th, 2026 has n/a response and 0 views is organized under All Daily CreatesDrawingVisual

Apparently adult colouring is the new meditation. So The Atlantic tells us. Who needs an excuse to make art? We found you a whole set of resources to do some adult colouring. Print one and start colouring.

I looked through many of the image choices online, and I ended up choosing this cute turtle photo. Colouring this was fun, satisfying, and very therapeutic. In the future I see myself using colouring as a stress-reducing activity as it was incredibly effective. I think this daily create connects to storytelling as it reminded of when I used to colour all the time as a child. I remember colouring at the kitchen table, talking with my mom about what she was cooking for dinner, feeling so excited to complete another colouring to add to the collection I had on our wall.

    2. #tdc5143 #ds106 Meaningful object

Pick any object in your house that’s meaningful to you.

Make a photo or drawing of it. Or describe it in your own words.

Tell us why it’s meaningful to you.

For this daily create I chose a picture of a vase of dried up flowers that I keep on my dresser in my room. It may not look as beautiful as fresh flowers, but it holds meaningful memories. On my birthday last year, my friends all bought me flowers, and when the flowers started to die, I chose a few from each bunch to dry out and keep. Now whenever I look at these flowers I am reminded of my amazing friends, and how much they mean to me. I believe this daily create relates to backward design. I started with the daily create prompt and then started looking around my room for a meaningful object I wanted to share. I had a few objects in mind, but I felt that this one suited the learning outcomes of the prompt best!

    3. #tdc5229 #ds106 #dailycreate Last minute food panic

What is your last minute food go-to? Send in a pic or describe the meal.

My last minute food to-go would definitely be a yogurt parfait. My favourite parfait is some vanilla yogurt with honey, granola with chocolate chips, and some seasonal fruit. I like to keep all the components in separate containers, and then assemble the parfait wherever I am on the go to keep it fresh. It is always so tasty, and satisfying. I think this is also another great example of backward design. I again started with the prompt, and then started to think of ideas that suit the outcomes. After this daily create, I feel as though I can recognize backward design without even thinking about it!
